Cardinals Homestand Highlights for the week

Saturday, April 2, 2011—Cardinals vs. San Diego Padres (3:10 p.m.)
  • Kids Opening Weekend: Saturday and Sunday, all kids ages 15 and under, with paid admission, will receive a free ticket to a future April or May 2011 home game. Kids are also invited to enjoy fun and entertainment throughout Busch Stadium.
  • Rawlings Matt Holliday Bat Day: 12,000 kids ages 15 and under, with paid admission, will receive a 28” wood bat compliments of Rawlings Sporting Goods. The bat is a replica of the one used by Cardinals slugger Matt Holliday.
  • Family Attractions Card Day: 25,000 fans ages 16 and over, with paid admission, will receive a Family Attractions card, perfect for a family looking for summer full of fun and activities. The card offers thousands in savings at local St. Louis attractions, restaurants and lodging.
  • Special Peanut-Free Seating: A special section will be designated as a peanut-free zone, so that fans with peanut allergies can enjoy the game. No peanut vendors will be permitted in section 328. Fans can purchase tickets for only $14 in this section by going to www.cardinals.com/peanutsafe.

Sunday, April 3, 2011—Cardinals vs. San Diego Padres (1:15 p.m.)
  • North Star Ice Cream Sunday: All fans can visit the Ford Plaza during pregame for free frozen treats sponsored by North Star. Bring the entire family to the plaza as there will be music and plenty of fun in addition to the delicious frozen desserts.
  • Kids Opening Weekend: Saturday and Sunday, all kids ages 15 and under, with paid admission, will receive a free ticket to a future April or May 2011 home game. Kids are also invited to enjoy fun and entertainment throughout Busch Stadium.
  • Ice Mountain Kids T-Shirt: All kids 15 and under, with paid admission, will receive a Cardinals t-shirt compliment of Ice Mountain. Cardinals’ youngsters will be able to show their Redbird pride all season long with this t-shirt.

  • Kids Run the Bases, sponsored by Prairie Farms: Following the game, fans 15 and under are able to realize every baseball fan’s dream as they are invited to run the bases of Busch Stadium (weather permitting).

·         Cardinals Care Stadium Auctions: Every Tuesday and Friday, fans can get the unique opportunity to bid on exclusive autographed Cardinals memorabilia. The auction is a great way for fans and collectors alike to obtain specialty Cardinals items while helping to support the programs that Cardinals Care provides to youth in the community. The auction tables will be located at Gate 3, on the first baseline concourse, Cardinals Club, Redbird Club and in section 452 of the Terrace Club.

Wednesday, April 6, 2011—Cardinals vs. Pittsburgh Pirates (12:45 p.m.)
·         Haircuts in the Plaza sponsored by Great Clips: Fans who come out to enjoy the special treat that is afternoon baseball can also visit the Ford Plaza for the latest fashion in hair design. Great Clips will sponsor the event every weekday afternoon game during the season, haircuts are $10 and all proceeds go to Cardinals Care.

Dynamic Deals of the Week
The Cardinals new value-based dynamic pricing system allows for the Cardinals to offer outstanding ticket savings to fans throughout the season. Special values will be highlighted each Monday as part of the “Dynamic Deals of the Week” promotion. When single-game tickets went on sale to the public on February 28, 2011, more than 25 percent of games this season started as low as $5 for select ticket locations. The goals of value-based ticket pricing include broadening the ticket-buying fan base, rewarding fans for buying earlier in the season and protecting Season Ticket Holder value.
The deals for the week of Monday, March 28 features Right Field Terrace tickets for just $8 for Kids Opening Weekend on April 2nd and 3rd. With this low dynamic price, a family of four can enjoy the game for just $32. Don't wait - get your tickets today!

What’s New on the Menu?
  • The Cardinals concessionaire, Sportservice, has added Busch Stadium’s first Farmers’ Market-style stand located near Gate 1 in Section 137.  The new Farmers’ Market stand offerings were developed specifically with gluten-free dietary needs in mind, including garden and chef salads, yogurt and fruit. 
  • Sportservice will debut a new Food Network portable cart in Section 145, which will feature two steak sandwiches:  the Food Network Signature Red, White and Blue Steak Sandwich is topped with blue cheese and a sweet and spicy pepper mayonnaise; while the St. Louis Food Network Sandwich includes St. Louis-style barbecue sauce and cheddar cheese.
  • New in the Redbird Club will be the Build-Your-Own Nachos, Build-Your-Own Salads, pizza by the slice and the Action Food Platter.
  • New throughout the stadium will be the Jalapeno Cheddarwurst, spicy corn nuggets and the bacon-wrapped hot dog.

AT&T On-Demand
Each week AT&T will give Cardinals fans a behind the scenes look into Cardinals baseball. Cards TV host Dan McLaughlin will emcee the one hour specials that will air exclusively on AT&T On-Demand.

We Are Cardinals Nation
We Are Cardinal Nation - It is the theme of the 2011 season and the focus of the home opener this year.  No one day better captures the sheer joy, eternal hope and unity that come from being part of Cardinal Nation than Opening Day.  Opening Day 2011 is dedicated the unique connection between fan and team that few other professional franchises can claim.The Cardinals new “We are Cardinal Nation” ad campaign features players such as Albert Pujols, Matt Holliday, Lance Berkman, manager Tony La Russa, plus the debut of Hall of Famer Red Schoendienst. Fans can see all seven of the 2011 commercials and vote for their favorite at cardinals.com/tvads.

Busch Stadium Upgrades
Several changes have been made in and around Busch Stadium to improve the fan experience.
  • The Redbird Club, located on the third level of Busch, has been updated with the help of feedback from fans to maximize room, enhance sightlines and improve accommodations. Outdoor seating areas will now feature overhead fans to improve air flow. New flooring and forty new High-Definition televisions highlight improvements in the club.
  • The ticket windows around Busch Stadium received a new look as each is now individually decorated with a special blind featuring one of either a Cardinals Hall of Famer, a Cardinals retired number, a current player or logo.
  • There have been several name changes throughout the stadium such as the Left Field Porch, Powerade Bridge and US Cellular MVP Deck.
  • The new Quality Ford Dealers sign in centerfield promises to be a fan favorite as its lights will flash and the horn will sound following all Cardinals home runs.

Cardinals Care and Rawlings Sporting Goods Team up
Cardinals Care and Rawlings Sporting Goods encourage fans to donate new and gently-used baseball and softball equipment throughout Busch Stadium as part of the “Rawlings Replay” program. Special bins are placed in the family pavilion during the entire 2011 season and throughout the stadium on select dates during the season. All donations received will go to support Cardinals Care’s flagship Redbird Rookies program and other St. Louis children’s charities.

Cardinals Social Media
Throughout the season the Cardinals will engage fans through a variety of social media platforms such as Twitter (@CardsInsider) and Facebook (facebook.com/cardinals). Timely updates of Cardinals games and breaking news will be available at @CardsInsider and fans can read team posts and join in discussions on the Cardinals Facebook page. Both platforms will be utilized for fun promotions such as “Ticket Tuesdays,” where the team will meet fans at a St. Louis area location and give away tickets to an upcoming game, there will also be seat upgrades, promotional item giveaways and more. Return to KMOX
After five-years, the Cardinals return to their longtime radio partner KMOX 1120 AM and its booming 50,000-watt signal, which at night reaches more than 40 states and parts of Canada. KMOX was home to Cardinals baseball for 52 years and returns to be the Cardinals local flagship radio rightsholder. The Cardinals entire radio network consists of 117 stations spread out over nine states.

Cardinals Authentics
Fans will want to stop by the Cardinals Authentics store in Ford Plaza, the only place to get official, game-used, limited edition and autographed Cardinals memorabilia directly from the team.  New this year are two collectibles commemorating Stan Musial receiving the Presidential Medal of Freedom, a special collectible commemorating  Matt Holliday’s 2010 Silver Slugger award that includes a piece of a game-used bat, as well as a variety of items to fit every budget.

St. Louis is Fantasytown USA
According to Yahoo, St. Louis is the Best Fantasy Baseball City in America. The Wall Street Journal reported that Cardinals first baseman Albert Pujols is the most coveted player in fantasy baseball while the St. Louis metropolitan area is tops in the nation in per capita participation in fantasy baseball. Yahoo reports that one in 76 people in St. Louis take part in fantasy baseball, edging out Boston (1 in 86).

Kudos to Cardinal Nation- The Best Fans in MLB
The Bleacher Report, the fourth largest sports media site in the U.S. with over 20 million monthly readers, has named St. Louis fans the Best in Major League Baseball. In their article MLB Power Rankings: Analyzing the Passion of All 30 Major League Fan Bases the site states, “Not only are Cardinals fans among the most knowledgeable and passionate in the sport of baseball, they are also, by all accounts, the most polite.”

Monday through Thursday Special Ticket Offers
·         Members of the Automobile Association of America (AAA) receive a $10 discount off the price of select tickets to most Monday through Thursday games.
·         The Grand Slam Ticket Pack allows fans to purchase four Terrace-level tickets, four hot dogs and four Coca-Colas for the special price of $60.

All 2011 Home Games
The Cardinals are pleased to team up with KMOX 1120 to offer the KMOX 1120 First Pitch Tickets. At 9 a.m. on the day of each game, fans may purchase a voucher for two tickets to that day’s game for a total cost of $11.20 ($5.60 per ticket). The voucher may be redeemed for tickets 15 minutes before the scheduled start of the game. The tickets may be anywhere in the park, depending on availability.
